The Ground Zone
These paintings are not intended for the center of the wall.
They function more precisely when placed lower, closer to the floor, within the spatial field of the body. In this position, the way of looking also changes: the work is not viewed head-on, but discovered as one moves through the space.
The image therefore appears less as a central object on the wall and more as a presence within the architecture of the space.
This zone — where body, floor and image meet — is what I call the ground zone.
